Bent Studio was founded by Juan A. Martinez, a lifelong creative whose passion for music began in childhood. As a young boy, Juan spent hours listening to all kinds of music, writing down lyrics, and imagining the lives behind the songs. That early curiosity grew into a deep connection to storytelling, sound, and the emotional power of music.

Juan’s creative journey has spanned many forms: fine art, poetry, graphic design, photography, video, music, and performance. From graduating with a B.F.A. degree in Graphic Design and Advertising, to exhibiting in art shows, performing in marching band competitions in high school, to being featured as an athlete, dancer and model in Olympic ceremonies, creativity has always been his compass. 

It was in his private journals that Juan discovered the stories that would later shape his music: moments of hardship and healing, memories of growing up in poverty and an experiencing abuse, his experiences as a gay man navigating rejection and resilience, struggles with mental health, and the joy and heartbreak that came from love, loss, and the companionship of his dogs.

Bent Studio was born from these stories. The mission is simple: to create music that connects with people in their most vulnerable places and reminds them they are not alone. Juan writes and produces songs that explore themes like mental health, identity, love, grief, and self-acceptance. Each track is meant to be more than just music. It is a lifeline, a reflection, a safe harbor.
